Researchers are among the important categories at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University. Therefore, the Graduate Studies and Research Sector is committed to providing all possible facilities and the best services in scientific, research, and educational fields to support them in advancing scientific research. At the same time, these services serve as a motivating factor for researchers to foster creativity, excellence, and distinction. This enables them to contribute to solving societal problems, advancing scientific research, and enhancing the university’s global ranking.
To achieve this, the faculty is keen on the following:
- Developing a research plan following appropriate methodological steps, including specific research fields, aligning the research plan with the university's strategy and societal priorities.
- Establishing a Research Ethics Committee that adheres to international guidelines and local regulations, including (rules and formation decisions, affiliation, meeting frequency, etc.).
- Ensuring the suitability of the committee's regulations and standardized operating procedures (such as obtaining committee approval for conducting research, maintaining annual reports, etc.).
- Providing appropriate methods to support and encourage scientific research (such as establishing units or departments for research support and commercialization, business incubators, technology transfer centers, entrepreneurship, and innovation hubs).
- Offering suitable training programs to develop researchers' capabilities while ensuring adequate support mechanisms to encourage applied research and interdisciplinary research projects within the institution or with external entities.
- Tracking the progress of the institution’s research output (total number of theses and scientific research) over the past three years.
- Monitoring the development of the ratio of international to local research publications over the past three years.
- Assessing the growth in the average research output of faculty members over the past three years (average = total number of theses and annual research publications divided by the number of faculty members for that academic year).
- Evaluating the increase in the average number of international publications by faculty members over the past three years (average = total number of international publications per year divided by the number of faculty members for that academic year).
- Ensuring appropriate means to encourage and support faculty members, researchers, and students in participating in scientific activities, projects, and conferences at the local, regional, and international levels, along with maintaining relevant databases.
